Goal for the future

I just saw this and it kinda pissed me off: http://bangordailynews.com/2011/07/14/uncategorized/republican-lawmaker-to-lead-sportsman%E2%80%99s-alliance-of-maine/

Maybe its the stereotype that Maine hunters and sportsman are Republicans who love their guns (maybe that’s just my stereotype) but to me, you don’t normally hear the words ‘democrat’ and ‘hunting’ in the same sentence. You definitely don’t hear the words ‘women’ ‘sportsman’s alliance’ and ‘hunting’ in the same sentence unless its as a special kind of hunting group just for women. Seriously – like I am any worst of a hunter because I am a girl.

So, as part of my retirement plan (groom snowmobile trails around central Maine!), I will figure out what I need to have done/on my resume in order to be qualified and then make a run. Can you imagine?? LIBERAL, FEMALE heads Sportsman’s Alliance of Maine. Priceless. Now, to figure out how to make it happen.

First though. I need sleep.

This is what the owner of the property found the day before we arrived to shed hunt.  He wasn't out looking for sheds, just walking around the property.  As bummed as we were to see this, the fact that they now had two years worth of matching sheds for the...

Monitoring Maine’s deer

You could ask any deer hunter how the herd is in their area and get a different answer every time.  We all want the best habitat, doe to buck ratio and a very limited number of predators in our area. What I didn’t know, is that like moose here in Maine, we have...
