My first fishing trip… help!

This weekend, hubby and I are heading to Jackman to go fishing. This will be the first time that I have actually gone somewhere to go fishing. I have all of the equipment that I need (I think) but what suggestions can all of you offer to me about the trip??? Is there anything I MUST have? What should I know? This is the first time for me, so any and all info is more than welcomed. I leave Friday = )

This is where I am staying and thisis the link to their fishing page.

  1. Bring a book, sunscreen, polarized sunglasses and something to drink. If you're going out in a boat, watch out for green heads. They look like houseflies, have a green head and hurt when they bite.

    Set the hook.

Don't forget the camera. We want to see your fish!

    Have fun!

  2. Thanks Robin! Sunscreen, sunglasses book and camera are all packed. I have some Deep Woods Off! that I am bringing as well =) Thanks for the info!!!

  3. You will love Sally Mountian Cabins. I have stayed several times at the cabins and know Corey pretty well. He went to high school with a friend of mine. Drop the name "Antione" or "Travis" and he may let you know how to fish the island ;). Also friends of ours, the Ashey's own the restaurant on the corner "Momma Bear". If you travel up the road a bit past Bishops you will see garage on the left. Ask for Kelvin and mention Jo and Travis and he might even tell you a couple other spots to hit. Have a great time.

  4. Full report to follow? Good fishing to you..
